Success at Perth and Belconnen Performing Arts Centres
Marshall Day Acoustics' expertise in acoustic design for the performing arts has ensured our place on the winning teams for two recent prestigious performing arts projects.
Kerry Hill Architects has won the international design competition, CentreStage, from a field of 40 entries for Western Australia's exciting new performing arts venue. The centre is to be built on the corner of William and Roe Streets, Northbridge by late 2008, and will comprise a 525-575 seat main theatre and a 200-seat studio theatre, with associated rehearsal and production spaces. Marshall Day Acoustics is honoured to be part of the Kerry Hill Architect's team on this exciting project.
We look forward to strengthening our ongoing relationship with the performing arts community of Western Australia. Harold Marshall, Marshall Day Acoustics' co-founder, was also responsible for the excellent acoustics of acclaimed Perth Concert Hall.
In addition to the Perth project, Marshall Day Acoustics is also pleased to be part of the Williams Ross Architects' team selected as top of the shortlist for Belconnen Arts & Cultural Centre in ACT. The centre will comprise a flexible theatre space for around 160 patrons. Belconnen will be the latest in a long line of successful arts projects by Williams Ross Architects in design collaboration with Marshall Day Acoustics. Other completed and ongoing projects include Dandenong Performing Arts Centre, Sacred Heart Geelong Performing Arts Centre, Wodonga Civic Centre and the Merlyn Theatre Upgrade.
