Daryl Prasad
Daryl Prasad is Managing Director of Marshall Day Acoustics UK specialising in Architectural Acoustics, Building Services Noise Control, Environmental Noise and, Ultra-Low & Building Vibration.
Daryl has worked as an acoustic consultant in New Zealand and the United Kingdom for over 12 years.
Originally from New Zealand, Daryl joined Marshall Day Acoustics' Auckland office after his time at the University of Auckland studying both a Bachelors and Masters degrees. After working in New Zealand, he travelled to the UK and worked in several major acoustic consultancies including Arup Acoustics and BDP. Before rejoining Marshall Day, Daryl was an Associate Director at Capita Symonds who ran the London office and lead the Architectural Acoustics part of the business.
Daryl has a broad range of experience in all aspects of building design including, but not limited to, architectural acoustics, noise and vibration assessment in support of planning applications, design and control of mechanical services noise, assessment vibration for both perceptible vibration and structure radiated noise, speech intelligibility design for public address/voice alarm systems and computer modelling to determine acoustic treatments and loudspeaker types and positions.
Daryl has also been involved in research projects involving: investigations into using explosives as sound sources for building acoustic measurements; the use of maximum length sequences (MLS), signal processing techniques, for determining coherent paths in random sound fields, and; an investigation into meteorological effects on the propagation of noise from petrochemical exploration.

:: Defence Technical College, Wales - acoustic design for one of the MOD's largest projects training more than 20,000 students a year
:: Joseph Chamberlain Sixth Form College - winner of the Prime Minister's Better Public Building Award, the Queen's Anniversary Prize for HIgher and Further Education and the RIBA Further Education Building Design Excellence Award.
