Shane Carr
Shane Carr is a Principal Consultant with the Ireland office of Marshall Day Acoustics specialising in environmental noise assessment and control.
Shane has over 10 years experience working in both the public and private sectors. He has worked in various Local Authourities in both England and Ireland as well as managing the Noise and Air Quality section at White Young Green (WYG), Belfast for three years. He has worked extensively on the assessment of new roads, quarries, wind farms, renewable energy schemes and many other industrial, residential and commercial activities.
He is a member of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA) and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (Chartered EHP). He has worked in the Environmental Health departments of local authorities in an enforcement capacity and been involved in the preparation of PPC permits & PPC assessments. Whilst working within Westminster City Council, he sat on the Health & Safety Executive's (HSE) Noise Working Group which was set-up to prepare guidance on the implementation of the new Noise at Work Regulations to the entertainment sector.
Shane has presented expert evidence in various cases relating to noise and public nuisance within the Planning and Licensing regimes including the "Live 8" and "Party In the Park" concert events at London's Hyde Park.
