Steve Peakall
A consultant based in the Auckland office, Steve Peakall specialises in environmental noise assessment and control, with a particular emphasis on large scale transportation infrastructure.
Steve has over seven years experience working in environmental health and environmental noise consulting roles including three years experience in the United Kingdom and over four years in Auckland with Marshall Day Acoustics.
He specialises in advanced noise modelling techniques with expertise in the use of both the Integrated Noise Model (INM) for aircraft noise and SoundPLAN for other transportation infrastructure, stadiums and general industry.
Involvement with challenging projects such as the redevelopment of the Eden Park Stadium, the proposed Marsden Rail Link and Queenstown Airport has expanded Steve's ability to build accurate noise models for complex situations. Over the last few years Steve has also been presenting evidence as an expert witness in Council Hearings.
Since obtaining his degree in Environmental Engineering in 2002, Steve has gained a diversity of experience in acoustical consultancy and has developed skills in many project sectors including vibration, building acoustics, and environmental noise modelling, measurement and assessment.
Recent project experience includes:
:: Eden Park Redevelopment - Environmental noise modelling and assessment, and the preparation of expert evidence.
:: Marsden Rail Link - Environmental noise modelling and assessment of noise and vibration effects and the presentation of expert evidence.
:: Queenstown Airport - Airport noise emission modelling and assessment of noise effects.
:: Wanaka Airport - Airport noise emission modelling and assessment of noise effects.
Steve enjoys the outdoors, and as a result now lives in the tranquility of Auckland's Waitakere Ranges, where he gets to indulge in various walks and trips through the native bush.
