Civic Place represents one of the most comprehensive cultural infrastructure projects undertaken by a local government authority and Marshall Day Acoustics are pleased to have been appointed as acoustic consultant on this prestigious project on the North Shore of Sydney.

Our appointment, which was the result of a rigorous competitive tender and interview process, was based on our internationally acclaimed concert hall and theatre project experience in addition to the design innovation demonstrated by the Marshall Day Acoustics team.

Currently in the construction phase, the acoustic design brief is to provide an excellent acoustic environment for a broad range of uses in both the concert hall and theatre ranging from orchestras to school rock bands and from drama to conferences.  The project also encompasses a banqueting/exhibition hall, library and rehearsal space, each with their own exacting requirements.

The space constraints of the site present significant challenges for the control of both external traffic noise and mechanical plant noise into the auditoria.

The theatre planning on this project was performed by Marshall Day Entertech.
