The Model Arts and Niland Gallery, Sligo, has undergone a major redevelopment in 2009-2010 to create a flagship contemporary arts space.  Marshall Day Acoustics has been retained as acoustic consultants in the design of the new "Black Box" performance space.

The 230 seat venue will accommodate music events, film screenings, readings, lectures and other forms of performance for a wide variety of audiences.

The development forms part of the Sligo Cultural Quarter; a visionary concept that will make a significant impact on the city.  After the redevelopment, the Model will be an internationally significant venue led by the visual arts with a) museum standard galleries; b) a high-level performance space; c) artists’ studios.
