THE BUTTON FACTORY, Dublin, Ireland
Marshall Day Acoustics were involved in the refurbishment of this iconic live music venue in Dublin's Temple Bar precinct. Formerly the Temple Bar Music Centre, the site has been a key part of Dublin's live music scene since the 1980's and provides recording and rehearsal studios in addition to the live music venue. The venue re-opened as the The Button Factory in 2007 following extensive refurbishment.
The new venue features a revised layout, increased capacity and state-of-the-art sound system.
Extensive modifications to the internal layout were undertaken, including an increase in the size of the balcony area and the incorporation of the main bar into the performance space. Marshall Day Acoustics provided specifications for the upgrade of the building envelope to ensure adequate levels of sound insulation were maintained. In addition, a review of the internal room acoustics was undertaken and a schedule of room finishes agreed with the designers. More information can be found here.
