Stephen Compton
Stephen is an acoustic consultant in the Christchurch office, joining the MDA team in 2022.
With a diverse background spanning more than twenty years, he brings extensive experience as a live-sound and AV recording and post-production engineer, technician, educator, as well as nine years as a builder/foreman. He has a desire to improve people’s experience with sound and is completing a PhD on audio engineer choice, critical listening, and hearing management. He is also working towards the NZ implementation of the WHO Safe Listening Events and Venues Guidelines.
Stephen is involved in a range of environmental noise and room acoustic projects, including speech privacy, environmental noise effects assessments, compliance assessments for residential and commercial developments, building envelope and internal sound insulation.
