Steve Peakall
Steve is a consultant based in the Auckland office specialising in environmental noise assessment and control, with a particular emphasis on large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.
He has over twenty years’ experience working in environmental health and environmental noise consulting roles including three years’ experience in the UK and seventeen years in New Zealand with Marshall Day Acoustics.
Steve specialises in advanced noise modelling techniques with expertise in the use of both the Integrated Noise Model (INM) and the Aviation Environmental Design Tool (AEDT) for aircraft noise and SoundPLAN for other transportation infrastructure, stadiums and general industry.
Involvement with challenging projects such as the redevelopment of the Eden Park Stadium, the proposed Marsden Rail Link, Queenstown Airport, Christchurch Airport and a number of regional airports around New Zealand has expanded Steve’s ability to manage large projects as well as build accurate noise models for complex situations. Over the last fifteen years, Steve has also been presenting evidence as an expert witness in Council Hearings and the Environment Court.
Since obtaining his degree in Environmental Engineering in 2002, Steve has gained a diverse range of expertise in acoustical consultancy and has developed skills in many project sectors including vibration, building acoustics, and environmental noise modelling, measurement and assessment.
