Craig Fitzgerald
Craig Fitzgerald is an Associate in the Auckland office, with experience in environmental and building acoustics. His interest in acoustics came by combining a background in music with studies in engineering.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Auckland in 2003 and is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) registered with the Engineering Council (UK). He joined Marshall Day Acoustics' Auckland office in 2007 and has managed projects across MDA's full range of services.
Craig specialises in assessment of noise and vibration from large infrastructure projects, port noise management, and underwater noise from marine activities. He has experience with a range of 3D computer acoustic modelling packages and has provided expert witness in numerous consent hearings, mediation and Environment Court. His port work resulted in winning the Hugh Vivian Taylor Award in 2022.
Many of our projects require us to engage with local communities and mana whenua forums. Craig is adept at making technical content relatable for effective engagement. He regularly presents to interest groups, project stakeholders, mana whenua forums, environmental consultants and university students.
Marshall Day Acoustics is a Member of the Diversity Agenda Accord and Craig is working through our policies in order to become a signatory to the Accord.
