Maggie Zhang
Maggie is a consultant in the Auckland office with experience in environmental noise and building acoustics.
She joined MDA in 2020, after completing a conjoint Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) and Bachelor of Science. She has conducted research projects on carbon fibre composites and superconductors.
Maggie is involved in a range of projects from large public infrastructure to residential buildings. Notable ongoing projects include City Rail Link, Auckland Airport Terminal Enabling Works, and Tauranga Te Manawataki o Te Papa civic precinct projects.
Outside of consulting work, she is also conducting research projects on acoustic stage response of choral singers, and Māori-informed design aspects of sound and acoustics.
Maggie became interested in the field of acoustics through her involvement in choral singing. She has sung in the Auckland Youth Choir and the New Zealand Youth Choir, and has toured both domestically in New Zealand as well as internationally. She holds an Associate of Trinity College London (ATCL) diploma in singing.
