The Rock, Wellington Airport


An extension to Wellington Airport dubbed ‘The Rock’ due to its shape and copper plating. The expansion more than doubled the space in the departure lounge, allowing for 1,000 international passengers to be processed per hour.

Our scope

The design was by Studio Pacific Architecture in association with Warren and Mahoney and is inspired by the surrounding environment. Marshall Day Acoustics was involved in the design of room acoustics, aircraft noise insulation and noise control of mechanical services.
