Fulham Solar Farm & BESS

Located in Fulham, Victoria, this renewable energy project combines an 80 MW solar farm with a 128 MWh DC-coupled battery energy storage system (BESS) on a 160-hectare site. Once operational, the facility will generate enough energy to power 39,000 homes.

Our Scope

To meet planning requirements, MDA conducted a comprehensive predictive noise assessment for the project. Our work included detailed noise modelling of the entire facility to verify compliance with noise limits. Additionally, our scope included providing specialist technical support to assist in the preparation of noise guarantee agreements.

Challenges

Significant iterative noise modelling was required to support the project through the stages of design development. This was done in response to updated technical data and changing requirements from other disciplines.

Marshall Day was engaged on the Fulham Solar Farm and BESS project to provide acoustic consultancy support and undertake Predictive Noise Assessments. Liam, Alex, and the Marshall Day team delivered exceptional service, enabling us to secure high-quality outcomes from our equipment suppliers while ensuring the project remained both compliant and cost-effective. Their ability to consistently deliver quality results within tight timeframes proved invaluable to the success of the project. I am excited to continue working with Marshall Day as we move into the next phase of Fulham, with the commencement of construction, manufacturing, and upcoming Factory Acceptance Tests to verify acoustic performance.
