Cœur de Ville de Cavalaire-sur-Mer
The Cœur de Ville Project in Cavalaire-sur-Mer is a multifunctional facility designed to offer a wide range of new spaces for both the local population and visitors. It is organized around three main hubs:
The Event Hub (Cœur Événementiel): Includes a 700-seat modular performance hall that can accommodate a 1,300 standing audience, an auditorium, cinema, dance conservatory, and music school.
The Community Hub (Cœur de Vie): A cultural hub featuring a media library, activity spaces, and administrative offices.
The Economic Hub (Cœur Économique): Office spaces, coworking areas, dining zones, and sports facilities.

Our Scope
Marshall Day Acoustics is providing full acoustic design services for the event hub and community hub.
Main Hall
The acoustics of the main hall have been specifically designed to accommodate a wide range of activities, including theatre, dance, amplified music, film screenings, trade shows, exhibitions, and conferences.
Sound clarity has been optimised through careful control of the hall’s volume and the enhancement of early acoustic reflections. Lateral reflections generated by the undersides of the balconies, together with overhead reflections, contribute to strong spatial perception and precise localisation of performers on stage.
Additionally, a variable acoustics system allows the reverberation time to be adjusted to suit amplified concert events.
Auditorium
The auditorium has been designed for classical music performance. Rather than being directed by audience size, its volume was determined by the size of the orchestras it will host. This approach resulted in a significant ceiling height and enhanced sound level control.
Stage curtains provide a degree of acoustic variability, allowing for adjustments to the reverberation time based on the specific needs of each concert.
