K’aute Pasifika Community Hub (Pan Pacific Hub)
K'aute Pasifika Community Hub is an $11 million, 582 m2 facility on Seddon Road in Frankton, Hamilton, providing integrated health, education and social services for the Pacific community and wider population.
Designed by CBM Architects (now Team Architects), the hub includes a 600-person fale, a GP medical clinic and an early learning centre, and opened in early 2023.

Our scope
We prepared the Assessment of Noise Effects supporting the resource consent application, then advised on the acoustic design as it progressed through a consent variation and detailed design.
Our scope covered the sound insulation of the fale's building envelope for its loudest activities and we certified the design against the consent's noise-to-boundary conditions.
Challenges
The fale needed to accommodate everything from small choral performances to a 150-person haka, all under a residential zone district plan noise limit at nearby homes just across the road. We designed the building envelope's sound insulation around this loudest 'worst-case' activity, so the fale could host its full range of community events without exceeding the consent conditions.
