Travis Hancock
Travis is an Associate based in the Melbourne office specialising in building acoustics, and industrial and environmental noise assessment. He graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours), specialising in acoustics and sustainable technologies.
He has been with MDA since June 2016 based primarily in Melbourne, with a four-month secondment to the MDA Wellington office in 2018.
Travis has extensive experience in environmental noise assessment across a wide range of planning processes from planning applications for commercial uses, residential developments and licensed premises to large-scale environmental impact assessments for heavy industry, quarries, landfills and wind farms.
He has prepared acoustic evidence and acted as an expert witness for Planning Panels Victoria. Travis also has considerable experience in the acoustic design of residential, educational, judicial and commercial buildings, including building services design, acoustic separation and room acoustics.
Travis is a member of the Victorian division of the Australian Acoustical Society and the Victorian Planning and Environmental Law Association, and regularly attends technical seminars and networking events.
Travis has presented the acoustic guest lecture at the University of Melbourne School of Architecture for the last two semesters.
