Deakin University, IISRI Facility

The new workshop and laboratory facility for the Institute for Intelligent Systems Research and Innovation (IISRI) at Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds campus put Deakin at the forefront of technological advancement and innovation.

The state-of-the-art facilities will allow IISRI to expand its industry-leading research and development programs in the fields of motion simulation, robotics and haptics, defence systems, and modelling and simulation.

CLIENT

Kane Constructions

LOCATION

Waurn Ponds, VIC

COMPLETED

2019

Our Scope

Marshall Day Acoustics was engaged to provide acoustic design advice from the PPR stage, and provided advice to the Builder to deliver the Client PPR requirements for the project.

TIMELINES

The project was successfully completed in 2019, ahead of schedule and below budget.

CHALLENGES

The commissioning stage of the project needed to be completed in a short time frame, in order to allow handover. Marshall Day was able to accommodate the short time frames and successfully provided the information to Deakin and Kane to facilitate their handover obligations.

Commissioning is often overlooked on projects, but provides such a valuable insight into the successful delivery of construction, and should be an essential component of any project.
